I met Gary and Tali eight years ago, back when they were newlyweds and just starting to figure out life together. What began as a simple photo session quickly turned into an annual tradition. Since that first shoot, I’ve had the chance to photograph them every year, watching their lives change in very real, very human ways.

In the beginning, it was just the two of them. They were relaxed, comfortable with each other, and easy to photograph. There was no need for big poses or forced moments—they were already themselves. Each year after that, we met up again, sometimes with a plan, sometimes just seeing what unfolded. The goal was never perfection, just to capture where they were at that moment in their lives.

As time passed, their relationship settled into something deeper and more grounded. They grew more confident together, more sure of who they were as a couple. The photos reflected that shift—less about “newlywed energy” and more about partnership and routine, the kind that comes from sharing everyday life.

Then their first child came along, and everything changed in the best way. Our sessions suddenly included baby gear, unpredictable schedules, and a lot less quiet. The photos from that time show real life: tired smiles, learning curves, and the kind of joy that comes with figuring things out as you go. A few years later, their family grew again, and now they’re a family of four.

These days, our shoots are lively. There’s always movement, interruptions, and a bit of chaos—but that’s what makes them honest. Gary and Tali handle it with the same steady energy they’ve always had. They’re present, patient, and clearly in it together. Even as their kids pull the focus, you can still see the connection that started it all.
